End of Year Founder Message

Your RRUFF Dog Park is celebrating its 3rd Anniversary on December 23! Thanks to our loyal members, volunteers, supporters and other park users the RRUFF Dog Park, Rocklin is one of the best dog parks in Northern California! We are progressive and innovative and have set a new standard for what an off-leash dog park should be. While we hope your experience is always “perfect”, we know an occasional unruly dog (or person) prevents this. You will never find another group of people as dedicated as we are. Every day we strive to make your dog park experience a positive one. We want to hear from you both when it is perfect and when it isn’t. 2014 has been a pivotal year for RRUFF. As our dues paying membership increases, we are almost self-supporting – this means the money you donate towards your Membership Dues is used to maintain your park and to provide membership benefits . In 2015 our goal is to double our dues paying membership. While it is not necessary to be a RRUFF member to enjoy the dog park, the more dues paying members we have, the more we can offer you in the way of amenities. Thanks to your generosity, we have been able to reach out and give something back to an important underserved segment of our population – Disabled Military Veterans. 2014 saw the launch of the RRUFF Healing Heroes Program. This program provides scholarships to qualified disabled veterans for service dog training at no cost to them. The program helps them find their dog, and through our partnership with 4Paws2Freedom trains them and their service dog from puppy to certification. We work with the Sierra College Veterans Center Boots to Books program and other organizations to support these veterans in need. The majority of veterans returning suffer from PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), TBI (traumatic brain injury) or MST (military sexual trauma). These are the veterans we help. The outdoor training site is the RRUFF Special Needs Area. The indoor training site is currently located at the Rocklin Community Animal Facility until a permanent location can be found.
